Grey Cube Gallery proudly presents the third “Skies” online art contest for the month of April 2022. Open to all artists worldwide over 18 years of age. The primary focus of this contest must be any depiction of the skies (clouds, rainbows, storms, stars, planets, moon, the night sky, the day sky, dusk and dawn). All visual art mediums (except video and sound) are allowed. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. Winning artwork (Best of Show) will be on the poster of the show. $16 for 2 images, $30 for 4, $42 for 6, and $50 for up to 8 images. Deadline: April 7, 2022.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Venice Arts seeks a part-time Teaching & Media Assistant for our Film + Digital Media Career Pathways Pilot Program (FDM), serving low-income young people ages 18-24. FDM offers education and training in video production and editing, designed to support participants’ career readiness. Working under the Director of Education, and responsive to the Lead Teaching Artist, responsibilities include:
TEACHING ASSISTANCE
● Act as a Teaching Assistant for the FDM program, including: (a) 160-hour Digital Video + Editing training (2 sessions offered—Spring, Summer), and (b) 480-hour Digital Video Pre-Apprenticeship program (starts fall).
● Provide as-needed teaching assistance in Venice Arts’ other educational programs of Venice Arts, as needs arise and time permits.
CLASSROOMS + EQUIPMENT
● Set up the FDM classroom to support weekly in-class activities.
● Take attendance and assure that the Program Assistant receives notification of absences within 15 minutes of the start of class.
● Provide in-class teaching and mentoring support to students.
● Hand out equipment for in-class shoots and receive/log their return.
● Maintain all equipment—both for the FDM and Venice Arts’ other programs.
● Maintain media labs including wiping computer drives and installing new or updated software at the end of each program cycle.
● Check-out and receive-back loaner equipment according to Venice Arts’ protocols.
● Provide tech support to students, primarily in video editing, as needed.
VISUAL ARCHIVE AND FILE MANAGEMENT
● Support the training of faculty and students on Venice Arts’ file management protocols, periodically checking to assure that they are being followed.
● Following strict archive naming and tagging protocols, update the media archive for all programs at the end of each teaching cycle, with selects made by the Executive Director, or designate.
● Photo and video document programs at key points in the workshop cycle, when special activities are being held, and as directed.
● Provide images for the website, or other communications, as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate is personable, an excellent communicator, and able to self-initiate and work independently, as well as collaboratively. A graduate of a filmmaking program or an individual demonstrating related experience, required. Experience with photography, a plus. Must possess a high level of technical expertise with digital video cameras, sound, and related equipment, Apple computers, and Adobe Suite software, with proficient or greater skills using PremierePro.
At least one year of experience teaching or assistant teaching filmmaking to young people is required; experience building your own syllabus or lesson plans a plus, as is an understanding of the educational equity needs of low-income and other highly marginalized young people, a plus.
SCHEDULE + COMPENSATION
This is a non-exempt (hourly) position with a variable work schedule that will be no less than 20 hours per week and 30-40 hours per week during some teaching cycles. Depending on skill and experience, there may be an opportunity for consistent, full-time work. While the work week will be established upon hire, it will primarily be weekdays, with some Saturdays required.

FILM TEACHING ARTIST: FILM + DIGITAL MEDIA CAREER PATHWAYS PROGRAMS
Venice Arts seeks a part-time Film Teaching Artist for our Film + Digital Media Career Pathways Pilot Program (FDM). FDM provides low-income young people, ages 18-24, with education and training in visual storytelling and videography, with an emphasis on building job-ready skills in post-production. Working under the Director of Education and responsive to the Lead Teaching Artist, responsibilities include:
YOUTH SELECTION
● Work with the FDM staff team to select the participants for each training cohort. This will require reviewing applications, résumés, and creative work.
TEACHING + MENTORING
● Work with the Lead Teaching Artist to deliver a 160-hour curriculum to 15 students in two separate sessions (Spring, Summer 2022), and to deliver a 480-hour curriculum to 12 students in a Video Editing Pre-Apprenticeship Program (starts Fall 2022).
● Teach the foundations of storytelling and build youths’ knowledge and skills in pre-production, production, and post-production, with an emphasis on youth developing at least proficient skills using Adobe PremierePro.
● Provide creative career mentoring and support to program participants.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate is personable, an excellent communicator, and able to work collaboratively. At least 2 years experience teaching film to young adults required, with demonstrated experience building a syllabus or lesson plan. An understanding of the educational equity needs of low-income and other highly marginalized young people, a plus.
Must possess a high level of technical expertise with cameras, sound, and related equipment; Apple computers; and the Adobe Suite, with advanced skill using PremierePro. Experience with the creative sector landscape, and employment opportunities across the sector, strongly preferred.
SCHEDULE + COMPENSATION
This is a non-exempt (hourly) position requiring 24-30 hours per week, on average, when teaching, plus additional hours for curriculum development and planning. Position starts no later than April 1. The spring/summer teaching schedule is: April 11-15, M-F, 10am-6:30pm; April 18-May 27, T/W/Th, 10am-5pm; July 5-July 8, 10am-6:30pm; July 11-August 5, M-Th, 10am-6:30pm. The Pre-Apprenticeship schedule has not yet been confirmed, but will likely begin in October and run, part-time for 6 months. International Art Competition Yellow
Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 1st “Yellow” Online Art Competition for the month of April 2022. This is an international competition and artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. The theme may include any work with depiction of the color “Yellow” or shades of Yellow (beige, lemon yellow, canary yellow, golden yellow). All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. First, second and third place will be largely displayed with an article about the artist and their work. Marketing Manager
Hosfelt Gallery, a San Francisco contemporary art gallery founded in 1996 and representing international artists, seeks an articulate, visually literate individual who is intellectually engaged in art and cultural history to manage all aspects of the gallery’s marketing program.
Primary responsibilities include:

Advancement – Grant Writer / Philanthropy Writer
The Music Center is one of the largest and most highly regarded performing arts centers in the country. As L.A.’s premier performing arts destination, The Music Center convenes artists, communities, and ideas with the goal of deepening the cultural lives of every resident in Los Angeles County. The non-profit performing arts organization has two divisions: The Music Center Arts (TMC Arts) and The Music Center Operations (TMC Ops). TMC Arts, The Music Center’s programming engine, provides year-round programming inside The Music Center’s four theatres, on Jerry Moss Plaza, outside at Grand Park—a 12- acre adjacent green space—and in schools and other locations all over Los Angeles County. TMC Arts presents world-class dance with Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center, free and low-cost public concerts, and events, as well as K–12 arts education programs. TMC Ops manages the theatres, the Plaza, and Grand Park on behalf of the County of Los Angeles. Currently, The Music Center’s Advancement Department is in search of a Grant Writer/Philanthropy Writer.
The Grant Writer / Philanthropy Writer is an integral member of the Advancement team reporting to the Senior Director of Institutional Giving and will share responsibility for achieving the Advancement Department’s total annual revenue goal of $10,000,000, in addition to supporting the team’s capital campaign.
The Grant Writer / Philanthropy Writer will possess outstanding written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate The Music Center’s vision and its impact in the community, especially in the areas of education and community engagement. The Grant Writer / Philanthropy Writer will play an important role in powerful messaging, research, stewardship and development of new institutional funders. Additionally, they must be comfortable taking initiative, and working across many departments in a complex organization, building relationships with colleagues in programming. The Grant Writer / Philanthropy Writer will craft compelling messages to inform and inspire a broad array of constituents, including foundation, government, and corporate partners, as well as our donors, volunteer leaders, and community members. They will maintain a unified/cohesive voice to our messaging. Great attention to detail, flexibility and organized time management are essential; a passion for the performing arts and Los Angeles’ diverse communities is desired.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grant Writing
– Synthesize The Music Center Arts’ program information and impact data into clear and concise cases for support,
LOIs, grant proposals and grant reports, infusing all documents with the warmth and style befitting The Music Center
– Prepare all proposal documents for each funder, completing all funder requirements for each submission
– Monitor completion of deliverables and communicates with internal constituencies
– Maintain grants deadline calendar and keeps team abreast of deadlines; Ensure on time submissions of applications
and reports
– Create template narratives representing key areas of fundraising focus, reflecting strategic needs and priorities
– Research new funding prospects for The Music Center Arts’ programming
– Establish collaborative relationships with senior leadership, board members, donors, volunteers, and colleagues from
all departments
– Develop thorough understanding of The Music Center’s mission, goals, areas of excellence, audiences, services and
programs
– Consistently maintain qualitative data in Tessitura donor database
General Philanthropy Writing
– Under the direction of the Senior Director, write and edit messages on behalf of the executive team and Advancement
senior leadership
– Support the entire Advancement team by expertly crafting cases for support, impact reports, stewardship materials,
presentations, event follow-up messages, impact messaging for Performances Magazine, social media and our website
– May write, edit, and proofread Advancement team narratives, templates, and other content
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
– Bachelor’s degree required.
– Minimum three years of demonstrated, successful experience writing grants that support the realization of major
grants; applicants with other professional writing experience, such as journalism, are welcome to apply
– Three years or more of fundraising experience in the performing arts, higher education or similar field
– An effective communicator who is articulate and persuasive in writing as well as verbally adept
– Minimum 1-year experience with writing grant budgets
– Minimum 1-year experience with basic fundraising research
– High capacity to work independently and manage time effectively in deadline driven environment
– Excellent organizational skills thorough attention to detail; accurate and timely maintenance of records
– Professional demeanor and positive attitude
– Software/Apps Experience: Familiarity with Tessitura or similar non-profit online database; experience with Microsoft
Teams, and workflow software such as Monday.com
– Must possess good judgment and exercise diplomacy in dealing with a variety of constituents, including the ability to
maintain confidentiality
– Understanding and appreciation of performing arts and a professional presenting organization.
– Familiarity with performing arts funders in Los Angeles and nationally
– Flexibility to work within the needs of a fast-paced, performing arts environment, including evenings and some
weekends
