Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 3rd “Blue” Online Art Competition for the month of August. All selected artists will receive a digital award certificate. First, second and third place will be largely displayed with an article about the artist and their work. First Place will be on the poster of the show. Artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. The theme may include any work with interpretation of the color blue or shades of blue as as a prominent or secondary color. All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art. $18 for 2 images, $28 for 4 images and $40 for up to 6 images. The tenth annual national juried exhibition of small works (12 inches or smaller in any direction*) is open to artists working in all media excluding video/sound and installation art. This exhibition is open to all U.S. residents (18 years or older). *Framing may extend to 16 inches.
About the Juror(s):
Bradley Butler is the executive director and curator at Main Street Arts, a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization in Clifton Springs, NY. He has been director since the organization’s opening in June of 2013. In addition to his role at Main Street Arts, Bradley is also a painter and has been making and exhibiting his work since 2006. His work has been featured in solo, group, and juried exhibitions regionally and nationally. Bradley received an A.A.S. at Monroe Community College in 2004, B.S. at Nazareth College in 2007, and M.F.A. from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2010.

Selected works will be printed in 10×15 inches, framed, and installed by our curators & assistants. If requested by the artist, works can be printed and framed in larger sizes. Additional fees may apply.

We will provide projectors and DVD/DIVX players for the show. Multiple single-channel works will be screen through a projector. If the work is required to be screened through a projector exclusively, or more than two projectors/monitors are needed, please indicate the special requirements in the submission email. Additional fees may apply.
-Painting, Sculpture, & Installation Art
The artist is responsible for the shipment and delivery of his/her physical work to and from CICA Museum, as well as all related expenses. The two-dimensional work should be no larger than 39 inch (1 m) on the longest side, and the installation piece should be no larger than 39x39x79 inches (1 x 1 x 2 m, w x l x h). The work that needs to be mounted on the wall should not exceed 10 kg. Please indicate in the submission email if you are interested in exhibiting works exceeding the size/weight limit.

2023 Council Chamber Banner Competition
City of Laguna Beach – Council Chamber Banner Competition
Description: The City of Laguna Beach Council Chamber Banner Competition is a project of the Arts Commission. Selected artists are provided with banner material on which to paint original artwork. The completed banners are displayed in the City of Laguna Beach Council Chambers.
Eligibility:
Open to artists 18 years of age or older who live, work, or exhibit in Laguna Beach (proof required).
Entry Requirements:
Please submit a color design drawn to scale (15 in. x 4 ½ in.) of your banner. Designs should be hand-drawn or painted, demonstrating ability and familiarity with materials. Bright colors are suggested, and a community celebration theme encouraged. Religious symbols are discouraged. For judging purposes please do not sign the front of your submitted design. Artists may submit a maximum of two (2) designs.
Selected artists are provided with a vertical 10 ft x 3 ft. banner. Actual banners may vary slightly in size. Allow a variance of 10% in your design. Banners must be painted on one side using acrylic paint.

Jurying Process:
The seven members of the City of Laguna Beach Arts Commission review designs anonymously for creativity and visual impact. Commissioners vote by ballot, which are tallied, and up to four (4) designs are selected by a majority motion.
Compensation / Award:
Completed banners will be awarded a $900 honorarium. The completed banner and designs become property of the City of Laguna Beach and will be displayed when and where the City desires.

2023 Juried Fine Art
City of Laguna Beach – 2023 Juried Fine Art Exhibition

Honorarium:
1st Place $1,200; 2nd Place $600; and 3rd Place $300
Eligibility: Open to all Orange County artists 18 years of age or older. Work must be original and executed within the past two (2) years. Work must not have been previously exhibited at City Hall. Entry in this exhibit establishes an agreement on the part of the artist to all conditions listed in the prospectus. City employees, including those compensated for City Council, Board or Commission positions, are not eligible to apply.
Media: Two-dimensional art works measuring no more than 36” x 36” framed.
Entry Fee: A non-refundable entry fee of $25 for up to three (3) entries.

Entry Procedures: Submit up to three (3) pieces by registering and uploading images at https://lagunabeachcity.slideroom.com. Payments made on a secure server with any major credit card.
Condition of Entries: All work must be completely dry, framed, wired and ready for hanging, or otherwise suitably prepared for exhibition. Sawtooth hangers will not be accepted (see hanging guidelines.) The City of Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Department, Arts Commission and appointed exhibition juror(s) retain the right to reject any submissions that do not fit the guidelines and/or the spirit of the exhibition or that may be deemed inappropriate.
