Associate Director for Business Services
Cal Performances is seeking an Associate Director for Business Services.
Cal Performances is the performing arts presenting, commissioning, and producing organization based at the University of California, Berkeley. The mission of Cal Performances is to produce and present performances of the highest artistic quality, enhanced by programs that explore compelling intersections of education and the performing arts. The organization delivers a diverse artistic and educational mission to the University and surrounding communities, as well as internationally through its digital platforms, maintaining a budget size of roughly $18M and roughly 60 career staff with hundreds of part-time employees, volunteers, and student partners.
The position reports to Deputy Executive Director and serves as the lead administrative manager for Cal Performances. The incumbent assists the Deputy Executive Director in all areas of operations for the Department, with the predominant focus of the work being the administrative operations activities, including strategy and project management, information technology, business process reengineering and assisting the Deputy Executive Director with the oversight of the Finance and HR function. The Associate Director for Business Services is functionally responsible for overseeing the Information Technology team (3 FTE) and leveraging the IT teams’ expertise to improve business processes.

Call for Artists: International Exhibition “#social2023”
CICA Museum invites artists worldwide to participate in the international exhibition “#social2023” We are open to photography, 2D digital art, video art, interactive art, painting, sculpture and installation art dealing with subject matters including socialization, social media, social distancing, social structure, and other social issues. QR codes of the featured artists’ websites, social media and project websites will be installed along with the works.

Selected works will be printed on 297 x 420 mm or 297 x 297 mm foam poster board, and installed by our curators & assistants. If requested by the artist, works can be printed and framed in different sizes. Additional fees may apply. If a special printing process is required, the artist may print and frame the works, and ship them to us. Please refer to the “physical prints” guidelines below.

We will provide projectors and DVD/DIVX players for the show. Multiple single-channel works will be screened via a projector. If the work is required to be screened via a projector exclusively, or more than two projectors/monitors are needed, please indicate the special requirements in the submission email. -Physical Works (Painting, Drawing, Print, Sculpture, and Installation Art)
The artist is responsible for the shipment and delivery of his/her physical work to and from CICA Museum, as well as all related expenses. The two-dimensional work should be no larger than 39 inch (1 m) on the longest side, and the installation piece should be no larger than 39x39x79 inches (1 x 1 x 2 m, w x l x h). The work that needs to be mounted on the wall should not exceed 10 kg. Please indicate in the submission email if you are interested in exhibiting works exceeding the size/weight limit.

Call for Art – Made in California 38th Juried Exhibition
38th Annual Made in California Juried Exhibition

Artists! Submit your work for our annual juried exhibition, Made in California.
Open to all living artists ages 18 and up residing in California. All entries must be original, completed in the past three years, and not previously shown at the Brea Gallery. All mediums are welcome! Over $2,500 in prizes are awarded annually and there is a unique opportunity to win a solo exhibition. Single entries are just $20, while solo show submissions are only $80 for a body of work (5 – 10 pieces).
This annual juried exhibit showcases artwork from all over the state of California. MICA strives to highlight artists in all stages of their careers and offers them a chance to compete for several awards, including the coveted solo show opportunity. This regional show features artwork from an extensive variety of mediums and explores creative movements happening in California.

Sales Associate
The MOCA Store Sales Associate provides customer service, completes sales transactions, maintains the physical appearances of stores, and completes opening and closing procedures. The Sales staff follows daily performance guidelines provided by management and are expected to work collegially as part of the Retail Operations Department.
This is a part-time position requiring you to work onsite. Weekend work will be required.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with the Sales Manager, Retail Coordinator, Webstore, Shipping Coordinator, and fellow Sales Associates.
- Use your creative eye to maintain unique shop displays.
- Interact positively with museum staff, donors, and museum visitors.
- Meet and greet customers.
- Guide and assist customers with sales of our unique selection of products and publications.
- Grow knowledge of art books and products.
- Operate Point of Sale cash registers with accuracy and process special orders.
- Complete clear and accurate end of day sales reports.
- Maintain communication with supervisors and colleagues.
- Assist in all aspects of keeping the MOCA Store looking smart, sophisticated, interesting and well organized.
- Promote sales of Museum Memberships through the Store and process appropriate paperwork. Interact with the public and answer or direct questions regarding the Museum.
- Have a neat and professional appearance according to MOCA Store dress code.
Requirements:
- Effective customer service-oriented interpersonal skills.
- Promptness and reliability are essential.
- Accuracy in cash handling.
- Prior retail experience is preferred.
- Availability to work Saturdays or Sundays, plus two additional weekdays with the opportunity to work additional hours.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of, or interest in contemporary art.
Hourly Rate: $17.66 per hour

Physical Demands:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Call for Art – Ocean Creatures
The City of Santa Clarita is seeking artwork for consideration for an upcoming exhibit at First Floor Gallery. Santa Clarita Arts is seeking artwork depicting any existing ocean creature for this art exhibition. Applicants may submit artwork in their chosen medium as long as it can be mounted to a wall. This includes but is not limited to paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, and textiles. The City of Santa Clarita utilizes a particular wiring system that requires all artwork to be WIRED to safely hang. Sculptural pieces will be accepted for consideration. Mailed artwork will NOT be accepted. Artwork must be physically dropped off on the agreed-upon date. This call is open to LA County, surrounding areas, and those willing to drop off. Artwork exceeding 25 pounds in weight will not be accepted. This project is open to all artists, regardless of race, color, religion, natural origin, gender, age, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental disabilities. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines.
