Open Call for Visual Artists for $1000 project grant and online publication
Prospect Art invites visual artists worldwide to submit their work for consideration in our ONE WORK and NEW WORK programs.
Our NEW WORK program is a mini-grant initiative that provides support for the production of new artwork. We aim to support professional artists at all career stages who are not currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs, regardless of their location. The program runs twice a year, offering a $1000 mini-grant to individual artists or artist collectives. The grant is intended to fund a project that can be completed within the next 12 months. We welcome submissions that explore innovative ideas and push the boundaries of traditional art practices, with a particular interest in self-contained, conceptual-based projects.
The ONE WORK publishing program is dedicated to a critical dialogue that focuses on one specific completed work by an artist for our monthly online publication. We are interested in highlighting various conceptual-based works that approach contemporary issues in a new and exciting way and represent the diverse voices and populations of the world. For this program we welcome artist submissions of work that has been completed in the past 2 years.
As a reference point, here’s a list of established contemporary artists and specific works that we are interested in. Also please review our website to see projects in the ONE WORK and NEW WORK programs that we have supported in the past.

Curatorial Fellowship
Prospect Art is seeking a Los Angeles-based curator at any stage of their career to help support the BROADCAST arm of our programming, where we highlight media-based artists throughout the year.
The selected candidate will design a cohesive program comprising no less than four BROADCAST segments (open to the public online events ranging from screenings, Q&A with artists, and/or workshops) organized around a theme of his/her/their choosing.
The curatorial fellow will be given a year mandate to build bridges and make connections between the Los Angeles cultural art scene and artists worldwide. During this period, the selected candidate will serve on review panels for the yearly 4th-WALL International Video Open Call and the three annual NEW WORK Grant open calls.
The selected curator will be awarded a $1200 honorarium for their curatorial support and compensation for writing a curatorial essay to be published at the end of the fellowship as part of our ONE WORK programming.
We believe this to be an outstanding opportunity for the candidate to come in direct contact with a tremendous breadth of artists dedicated to building a long-term research-based conceptual practice, working with video, expanded cinema, new media, performance, sound-based art, and audience participation.
The organization was conceived during the 2020 pandemic. Prospect Art is looking towards a world of representation and equality by creating new opportunities for local, national, and international artists. The organization is structured as an agile, responsive entity to serve artists, the local Los Angeles community, and beyond by supporting existing and new works to be presented to the public. We’re interested in breaking down silos and sharing information and knowledge to further artists’ careers and forge new alliances with the community.
