Call for Art: Two-Dimensional Temporary Public Art Installation for Fall 2026
Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RoCo) invites artists to propose three images for a temporary public art installation at our main facility. Of particular interest are projects that connect visitors to the location, community and/or history of the neighborhood, challenge visitors and passersby, and address important social and political issues. RoCo welcomes visual artists of all genres. RoCo also invites visual artists to collaborate with literary artists as we have previously shown in this location.
The selected series of three images will be exhibited to the public 24/7 for 4-6 months. The images will be printed on a weather-safe material at about 9′ h x 6′ w. Selected projects will require the following resolution: 12,000 px (h) x 8,000 px (w). The artist will receive a $400 stipend & use fee for exhibiting preexisting images. If an artist is interested in creating new works for this submission, please contact us. All production and installation costs are covered by RoCo.

Call for Artists: CICA Experimental Film and Video 2027
CICA Museum invites experimental film makers and artists worldwide to participate in the CICA Experimental Film and Video Exhibition 2027. We accept single-channel experimental films, video art, and animations.
*Installation:
We will provide projectors and DVD/DIVX players for the show. Multiple single-channel works will be screened through a projector. If the work is required to be screened through a projector exclusively, or more than two projectors/monitors are needed, please indicate the special requirements in the submission email. Additional fees may apply.

Printed Matter Publisher Work Grant
Apply for the Printed Matter Publisher Work Grant, an annual cycle of unrestricted grants available to artists’ book publishers, made possible with the generous support of Wagner Foundation.
Now in its third year, the Publisher Work Grant program offers funding to independent presses with a history of artists’ book publishing, acknowledging awardees’ accomplishments in past work and providing the capacity-building funds to enable future book projects and publisher sustainability. In 2026, three unrestricted grants of $10,000 USD will be awarded to three independent artists’ book publishers. Printed Matter will also extend a featured exhibitor presence at a forthcoming Printed Matter NY or LA Art Book Fair to selected presses.
Applications will be reviewed by Printed Matter and a guest jury, taking into account past work and contributions of the imprint, the strength of upcoming projects outlined, and the potential impact of the award.
L.A. PHOTO CURATOR ‘The Shape of a Father’ juried by Laurie Freitag
For the next L.A. Photo Curator competition, The Shape of a Father, I invite photographers to explore the many forms fatherhood can take.
When reviewing submissions, I will be looking for photographs that move beyond traditional portraits and familiar narratives. A father may be a source of love, protection, guidance, expectation, distance, loss, mystery, or memory. He may be present or absent. He may be a biological parent, stepfather, grandfather, mentor, teacher, or someone who shaped a life in unexpected ways.
I am interested in work that explores the complexity of fatherhood and its lasting impact. Images may be documentary, conceptual, autobiographical, archival, or symbolic. A father does not need to appear in the photograph.
Consider what fathers leave behind: stories, habits, objects, landscapes, traditions, beliefs, dreams, wounds, or gifts. What traces remain? How does a father continue to influence who we become?
I welcome diverse interpretations of this theme and encourage photographers to approach it with honesty, imagination, and personal vision.
