Busy art studio seeks an organized and professional individual with studio and/or gallery experience to join a motivated and highly committed team as a full-time Studio Assistant. The right candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to meaningfully contribute to a dedicated studio that is a thriving intellectual environment. We are seeking someone with superb attention to detail and a “can-do” attitude.
The responsibilities of the position include assisting in a wide array of projects in collaboration with the artist and Studio Director, including exhibitions, speaking engagements, publications, and the studio’s archives. The assistant will oversee registrar duties including managing the studio’s database and tracking the movement of artwork, and they will assist with shipping arrangements as needed. They will also support social media and the studio’s online presence.
Qualifications of the position include 4+ years of studio, gallery, or museum experience, and the ability to perform or learn the duties and responsibilities of the job. Photoshop skills are required, as is the ability to create studio documents, PDFs, and presentation materials efficiently and accurately with little or no supervision. This position is expected to effectively and professionally communicate with galleries, museums, collectors, and vendors.

Administrative Assistant to Artist
Prominent art studio in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Assistant to join a motivated and committed team. This position will provide direct administrative support for a busy artist to ensure his activities, appointments and professional/personal needs run smoothly. We are seeking someone with a can-do attitude and a clear sense of what it means for a job to be completed and well-done. Superior attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as is proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (familiarity with Photoshop is a plus). The ideal candidate can prioritize work activity with little supervision and is willing to provide after-hour and flexible support when needed.
The responsibilities of the position include managing incoming email and mail (which includes responding when appropriate), maintaining the artist’s schedule (including scheduling meetings and managing calendars), and planning all domestic and international travel arrangements and transportation as needed. The assistant will also handle personal needs, such as occasional shopping and personal meetings. This position functions as the artist’s first point of contact with people from both inside and outside the studio.
