Cybersentics Little Library Launch
Follow the smell of your personal computers… indulge in judging books by their covers… let yourself pause and think… all at Gray Area.
🖥️That’s right, this whispering ASMR-coded message is calling you to celebrate Cybersentics (little) Library, launched last month. Swing by, browse the shelves, mingle with like-minded community members, and grab some taste-bud stimulators (a.k.a. drinks and snacks) while you’re at it.
👃Gray Area is opening up Cybersentics (little) Library, a growing, hands-on collection of books, gadgets, and oddities built by and for our community, and this launch is your chance to explore it, shape it, and take part in what it becomes.
At the event, you can:
• Browse the collection — books, tech, and artifacts on the shelves for you to page through and poke at
• Learn what the library’s for — the mission behind it and how it fits into Gray Area’s broader work
• Meet the community — other members, contributors, and fellow nerds-in-good-standing
• Get the scoop on Book Club — a recurring series where we actually read and discuss what’s on the shelves
• Pitch an item — got a book, zine, or gadget that belongs here? Tell us why
• Swap something — bring a book or piece of electronics (up to $100 value) to trade with other attendees
. . .and more!

Open Call – V I D E O S O U N D A R C H I V E – S17
V I D E O S O U N D A R C H I V E Season 17 –Calling for video and sound works that reconsiders the current restructures and parameters. Rather than a festival or exhibition, we are carving out a space to encourage a literal pause in life and ‘mindful use of this easily accessible medium’ by underscoring critical thought and creation. Leaning away from social media and insta- “content creation” (vanity metrics) we hope to allow a straightforward space without the unnecessary pressure of views/likes. Ideated on January 13, 2020, we are both artists working in this medium. Our hope is to build a network to foster connections, and create a place for your work to exist in a broader conversation — a pure art exchange to experiment and express without buzz words, vanity metrics and artspeak.
- Please submit works with a maximum running time of ten (10) minutes.
- Please submit works that include both your original video and sound in the same piece. If you are not the sole creator of the video and/or sound, please include all collaborators, and/or list public domain/open source.
- Please read over our FAQ before submitting.
To be considered for S17, please submit by August 31, 2026 11:59pm PT.
or use this link:

Notification of selected works for S17 will be sent via email on September 11, 2026.
We appreciate your time and look forward to getting to know your work.
Thank you and take care!
