Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 2nd “Blue” Online Art Competition for the month of October. This is an international competition and artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. The theme may include any work with interpretation of the color blue or shades of blue as a prominent or secondary color. All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art. First place will be on the poster of the show. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. $15 for 2 images, $28 for 4, and $40 for up to 6 images. Deadline: October 20, 2022.

Art and Ecology Residency
Located in Troutdale, OR., The Verdancy Project Residency offers artists time and space to create, rest, research, recharge, and get away from the demands of everyday life. We provide privacy, nature, solitude, time, and space for artists working in the disciplines of visual, dance, theater, music, media, literary, and interdisciplinary arts. Our program is for creatives who have a deep connection to nature, ecology, and/or science. Artists who are stewards of the earth and interested in the natural sciences.
We do not impose any expectations on the artists. There are no project or production requirements. In fact, we think it’s important to normalize rest, idea generation, experimentation, gestation, and time for artists to simply be present without the expectation of output. As artists ourselves, we understand how important it is to plant the seeds of creativity and to have time to explore and cultivate ideas.
We understand that a lot of artists work and/or have families and can’t get away for an extended period of time. We offer 1- and 2-week residencies in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The Verdancy Project is on 4.5 acres of private land that hosts a constellation of spaces including an indoor studio, field station, treehouse, woodlands, creek, and more.
We are hosting two info sessions. Join us to ask questions about the program, property, and more. Resident Alumni will be present to talk about their experiences.

International Art Competition Painting & Photography
Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 3rd “Painting & Photography” Online Art Competition for the month of September. This is an international competition and artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. This is the open subject theme. The Gallery will accept entries in 2 different categories (painting and photography). Other visual art mediums are not allowed. $15 for 2 images, $28 for 4, and $58 for up to 10. Deadline: September 15, 2022.
Patterns Art Contest
Grey Cube Gallery proudly presents the third Patterns online art contest for the month of September 2022. Open to all artists worldwide over 18 years of age. Entries may include any work related to the Patterns theme (lines, shapes, textures). All visual art mediums (except video and sound) are allowed. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. Winning artwork (Best of Show) will be on the poster of the show. $16 for the 2 images of artwork, $30 for 4, $42 for 6, and $50 for up to 8. Deadline: September 8, 2022.
Colors Art Competition
We are pleased to announce our 1st Colors online Art Competition for the month of September 2022. An artwork with one color or a multitude of colors can be submitted for this open subject competition. Various interpretations of Colors theme are welcome (representative, abstract, conceptual). All forms of visual art are acceptable (painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, digital, fiber art, collage, and installation), except sound and video art. In addition to the selected artists, the jury will select award winners in the following art categories: painting, photography, sculpture. All selected artists will receive a digital award certificate. An article about each artist will be displayed alongside the best of show and three winners. The best of show will be displayed on the poster of the exhibition. Entry fees are $20 for two pieces of artwork. You may submit more than two images; there is no limit to the number of images an artist may submit. Payment must be made through PayPal. The application deadline is September 14, 2022.
Education Programs Manager
CLARA is currently seeking an Education Programs Manager to provide on-the-ground support for our nonprofit’s thriving, rapidly-growing arts education initiatives. This position will work with our education director, teaching artists, and other stakeholders to schedule and implement a variety of CLARA-focused programs in local schools.
A complete list of CLARA education programs and expected programmatic responsibilities can be found here; oversight of these programs will be split between this position and an existing program manager, with programs being assigned based on their unique skills and experience. In your application, please speak to which programs your background makes you best suited for.
IN ALL CASES, THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Have knowledge and experience working in the education sector (experience particularly in arts education preferred).
- Have knowledge and experience (as teacher or performer) of diverse art forms.
- Have passion for performing arts, and enthusiasm for restoring those subjects to the classroom.
- Have some background or understanding of theatrical production.
- Be proficient in the Google and MS Office suites including Google Docs, Sheets, Presentations and their MS Office counterparts.
- Consider themselves tech-confident, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Possess great communication skills and strong follow-up ability.
Position will require candidate to visit school sites on a regular basis, so reliable access to independent transportation is key. Also essential: enjoyment of young people and some past professional experience working with them.
Hours & Compensation: This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week, a portion of which may be carried out as remote work. The position is salaried, with compensation set at $60,000 / year plus benefits.
