ENTRY PROCEDURE
Entry is done through CaFÉ, a web-based service that allows artists to upload images and organize their artwork for submissions to galleries. To apply for a call, you must leave our website and go to the CaFÉ website at www.callforentry.org, where you can create a FREE artist account. You will add your details and upload your images to CaFÉ, and then you can submit work to ConTEXT. If you have any questions about the process please contact us at hello@art-fluent.com we are happy to walk you through the process.
MEDIA PREPARATION
All images must be in JPEG format using CaFÉ guidelines. The image size must be 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side. The maximum file size is 5 MB. Please only submit properly cropped images of your work that are in focus.
NOTIFICATION
Notification will be done by email, everyone who submits will be notified of the juror’s selections. If, for any reason, you do not hear from us by the notification date, please check the filters in your email account. Notification emails are sent to the email on file with CaFÉ.
SALES
All sales inquiries will be directed to the artist’s website. For any artwork that is sold, the artists receive 100% of the sale.
GIVING BACK
A portion of the proceeds from the entry fees is donated to organizations committed to the arts and supporting artists.

By entering our calls for art through CaFÉ, you agree to be added to Art Fluent’s email list for forthcoming artist opportunities. Riverside Arts Academy (RAA) is empowering Riverside’s youth to grow socially, academically, and culturally through exposure to and training in the arts. The Riverside Arts Academy is committed to providing instruction and a springboard to arts education in a broad-based curriculum that focuses on improving the quality of life through music, dance, performing, and visual arts. An affiliate of the award-winning Harmony Project Los Angeles and an El Sistema USA member organization, we promote positive youth development through year-round music lessons and ensemble participation.
The Riverside Arts Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is housed at the Cesar Chavez Community Center with classes taking place at other community centers across the city and additionally at select elementary schools in the Riverside Unified School District (specifically Beatty, Bryant, Longfellow and Highgrove in 2020-21), and select schools in the Alvord Unified School District.

Position Overview
The Music Director shall develop, coordinate, and supervise the entire Riverside Arts Academy Music Project (RAAMP); recruit, train, and rehearse members of the Riverside Youth Orchestra and oversee all other classes. They are responsible for the music portion of Riverside Arts Academy.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to music required . Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a music conductor, teacher of music, or similar role required.
Other Qualifications
Experience programming and hosting music programs. Announcing experience, with clear annunciation. In-depth knowledge of music. Ability to use computers. Ability to effectively recruit, train and lead musicians. Proficient in at least one performance area, such as keyboard, violin, choral or voice, etc. Willingness to travel and availability of reliable transportation. Must pass background checks and TB test prior to the start of work.
Time Requirements
Approximately 15 hours a week. Weekly time commitment on Saturdays and occasional evenings for events.
Tasks and Duties:
-Oversee classes at the Riverside Arts Academy and school districts and implement at least three (3) performances during agreement period, including the Art of Giving Gala, Instrument Drive and Winter & Spring Showcases.
-Provide support, direction and supervision for Teaching Artists (TAs) and students enrolled in RAAMP classes (e.g. Band, Strings, and Choir).
-Principal conductor of the Riverside Youth Orchestra.
-Work effectively with parents of RAAMP students and create a nurturing and welcoming environment.
-Assist with the recruitment and training of all Teaching Artists that will teach in the Riverside Arts Academy Music Project.
-Provide curriculum for all sessions no later than one month prior to the start of the program for all Teaching Artists.
-Coordinate program design, implementation, goals for accountability, and program effectiveness with RAAMP staff (General Manager, Curriculum Specialist, Program Assistant).
-Selects repertoire for all RAAMP classes in collaboration with the Curriculum Specialist and Teaching Artists.
-Assist in coordination of events with the General Manager.
-Provide an evaluation process to assess the success of the RAA Teaching Artists and staff. Success will be measured by the retention of participants, attendance, program evaluations and performance among participants.
-Provide an evaluation process to assess the success of the Riverside Arts Academy Music Project (RAAMP). Success will be measured by the retention of participants, attendance, program evaluations and performance among participants.
-Provide a list of supplies, equipment and materials needed to conduct each class no later than one month prior to the start of each session.
-Provide a qualified substitute, or notify RAA staff in the case of the cancellation and the date the canceled class will be made up. Director shall notify RAA staff twenty-four (24) hours prior to class time of the substitution or of the cancellation. Failure to make up a class or secure a qualified substitute instructor will result in the deduction of compensation for such class from the Music Director’s next payment and may result in termination of Agreement.
-Ensure facility, equipment and supplies are left in the same condition at the conclusion of each class meeting.
The Music Director will be present at a minimum of thirty (30) Saturday classes, during this agreement period.
Music Director will participate in monthly Harmony Project America affiliate conference calls as a Riverside Arts Academy affiliate of HP representative.
-Assist staff with written material, communications and documentation.
-Represents RAA in local and regional events.
-Participates in the development of evaluation rubrics, especially musical and nonacademic metrics.
-Other duties as assigned.

Under the Wing Mentorship Program
BACKGROUND
The Arts Program at San Diego International Airport (SAN) is committed to supporting the development of emerging and mid-career artists. The Under the Wing Mentorship Program offers a professional development opportunity for artists interested in a career in public art. The selected “Mentee” artist will support an artist (“Mentor”) experienced in largescale public art commissions, gaining knowledge of the public art process from concept through installation.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Arts Program at SAN invites emerging and mid-career artists with an interest in gaining handson experience in the field of public art to apply for the Under the Wing Mentorship Program. This opportunity will enable the selected Mentee artist to grow their technical and administrative skills necessary for a public art practice by pairing them with an artist commissioned to create a permanent public artwork at SAN. Working closely alongside the commissioned artist, the Mentee artist will provide support services to advance the project’s development, including, but not limited to:
• Coordination of and participation in planning and design weekly or bi-weekly meetings with Mentor artist, Airport staff, and design team members.
• Support community outreach efforts as needed.
• Conduct research on the airport site, materials, design, fabrication and conservation issues, and building codes.
• Participation in at least one studio visit and fabricator visit with the commissioned artist.
• Act as a liaison to the San Diego regional arts and culture community for commissioned artist
• Documentation of the experience and the commissioned artwork’s development through at least six blog entries for the Arts Program website (arts.san.org).
• Assisting Mentor artist in calendaring and adherence to overall project schedule and deliverables timeline. The commissioned artist will support the Mentee’s growth through a collaboration as described above, in addition to knowledge sharing and maintaining open and clear communication throughout the project.
