Cocoabutter ‘n Cash
A vibrant summer showcase that radiates luxury, leisure, and unapologetic self-indulgence. Think golden sands, shimmering waters, tropical fruits, pampering cocoa butter on glowing skin, and the exhilaration of cash in your pocket. Now the possibilities become endless. We invite artists to immerse us in a world of sun-kissed beaches and decadent pleasures. Let your imagination capture the sensory delights of summer — the scent of coconut, the warmth of sunshine, the glint of golden wealth, and endless summer days to express how this scenario feels to you.

Beyond the Box – Utility Box Art Program Call for Artists
This Call for Artists is for a Beyond the Box – Utility Box Art Program, in which artists will design vinyl utility box wraps for selected utility boxes throughout various locations in Glendale. The program goal is to bring beauty to unexpected places such as public infrastructure and utility boxes.
The theme for this year is Celebrating Glendale. Applicants are encouraged to develop a design focusing on what makes Glendale special. Examples may include historic landmarks such as the Alex Theatre, vibrant outdoor spaces like Verdugo Park and Deukmejian Park, library branches like Brand Library & Art Center, or Glendale Police Department and Glendale Fire Department Wellness K9s, Brisket and Cooper. Artists are highly encouraged to incorporate these characteristics and resources distinct to Glendale in their designs.
The Arts and Culture Commission (ACC) will fund $750.00 per utility box design rendering only. The ACC will select artwork for 5 utility boxes. Selected finalists will submit a final design rendering to be printed onto a vinyl wrap which will cover the exterior of a utility box. Artists will not be printing or installing the vinyl wraps.
Beyond the Box is open to all local and regional artists. The ACC encourages both new and established artists to apply. Artists may apply as an individual artist or as a group. City of Glendale employees are not eligible to apply.
Beyond the Box is supported by the City of Glendale and the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission.
CALL FOR ART DREAMS AND VISIONS
CALL FOR ART
O’Hanlon Gallery Exhibition
July 8 – August 14, 2025
Juried by Toni Littlejohn
Image art by Steve Coleman
DESCRIPTION
Dreams and Visions in art are a familiar motif. Mysterious and otherworldly images can represent our subconscious thoughts, emotions and desires.
Surrealist Artists, and Symbolists, used dreams, free association, and writing to tap into their imagination.
Julie Lageir’s “La Sortie”, Henri Rousseau’s “The Sleeping Gypsy”, Mark Chagall’s “Passage Bleu” depict the surreal nature of images that defy logic and conventional reality. The dream in art is a wandering spirit on the path of the imagination: art that asks us to examine the link between the visible and the invisible.
This exhibit asks you to explore your inner dream state. We encourage your interpretation of this theme.
All mediums welcome. Including video*
* If you do want to submit video, you will need to provide the system for displaying it (monitor no larger than 15”) and earbuds if music is part of the experience. The video will have to automatically run in a loop.
