Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 1st “Green” Online Art Competition for the month of November 2022. This is an international competition and artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. You are welcome to submit any style or subject matter as long as the theme color “Green” is prominent. All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art. First place will be on the poster of the show. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. $15 for 2 images, $28 for 4, and $40 for up to 6 images. Deadline: November 24, 2022.

Bridge Live Arts (B.L.A.) seeks a passionate, energetic Co-Director with an Operations and Development focus to join our team. The ideal candidate is someone with leadership experience, a passion for working at the intersection of the arts and social justice, and a dedication to furthering cultural and racial equity in the Bay Area and nationwide. This is an exciting opportunity to move into co-leadership in an organization that is re-imagining equity-driven models in the arts.
The new Co-Director will co-lead the organization in partnership with the Director of Arts Leadership, with support and collaboration from the Community Engagement Manager and Marketing and Development Coordinator. The new Co-Director will partner with the entire staff and Board to further the organization’s mission to create and support equity-driven live art that centers artists as agents of change. This role will have a special focus on supporting the organization’s operations and fundraising.
The Co-Director position is a part-time employee position. Schedule is flexible and remote, with occasional in person events. Hours are flexible and range from 50-70 hours/month. Pay: $36/hour. Applicants must be based in the Bay Area. Two year commitment required.

Visitor Experience Representative

JOB SUMMARY:
The Visitor Experience Representative is an essential member of the ICA San Diego team. This person supports ICA San Diego’s mission by providing visitors a welcoming and informative experience. As the interface between the visitor and ICA’s exhibitions and programs, the Visitor Experience Representative will enhance the visitor experience by inspiring guests to engage and connect with the exhibitions and each other in new and meaningful ways. The Visitor Experience Representative reports to the Visitor Experience Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create friendly, welcoming, and informative experiences for visitors
- Greet guests, callers, and vendors and provide them with current information about ICA San Diego exhibitions and programs
- Direct visitor, callers, and vendors to appropriate staff members/departments
- Collect and input department data to prepare reports related to visitor attendance and event attendance
- Promote programming, volunteer opportunities, and events
- Assist in the sales of memberships, education classes, and facility rentals
- Collaborate with ICA San Diego’s Engagement Guides and Education Department in coordinating and hosting tours and group visits
- Periodically clean the front desk and other high touch areas in the galleries to ensure a safe, hygienic guest experience
- Keep informed about the exhibitions on view and upcoming programs
- Accept and record sales, donations, and membership revenue
- Follow open and close procedures for each location
- Office admin work including printing signs and gallery guides from office computers
- Check voice messages/emails and direct them to appropriate departments
- Assist with check-in during special events, programs, facility rentals, and other museum events
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Familiarity with POS software/systems
- Capable of speaking in front of large and small groups of visitors
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with culturally diverse audiences
- Must be able to use policies and procedures to exercise decisiveness in stressful situations
- Ability to resolve or escalate visitor complaints and/or problems
- Must be able to multitask and function as part of a team
- Ability to adapt and be flexible to support other departments as needed
- Must be able to work on evenings, weekends, and some holidays

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in art history or studio art
- 1-2 years Customer service experience

COMPENSATION
Position type: Part-time, 24 hours per week with opportunities for additional hours as needed, non-exempt. Hourly rate is $17. A typical shift is 6-8 hours, Thursday through Sunday, with some weekday and evenings as needed.
