Reporting to the Director of Education & Visitor Engagement and working closely with a variety of staff, the Getty Marrow Education Intern will gain a basic understanding of the field of art museum education issues, programs, and interpretive strategies. The Intern will play a critical role in preparing historical and current program documentation for a user-friendly archive for a variety of education programs, as well as supporting in-person and online programming for teachers, families, and teens. This position will primarily be based on-site with some possible remote work. Schedule is generally working 9:30am – 5pm Mondays through Fridays and subject to adjustment to accommodate occasional weekend events.

The Educator will work primarily within Contemporary Art Start (CAS), the Museum’s year-long partnership program for 3rd-12th grade classrooms across Los Angeles County. Through CAS, MOCA invests in supporting teachers to lead inclusive discussions about contemporary art with their students.
Within this part-time position (12-20 hours per week), the Educator will primarily assist with the development and implementation of discussion-based tours for students and learner-centered professional development training sessions for teachers within CAS, as well as assist with our family programs. Family programs include in-person events that incorporate guided tours, artmaking experiences and online programs with guided discussions and accessible artmaking activities, and more. MOCA is looking for candidates who are interested in developing into highly trained teacher-coaches.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around and give hour-long tours around the museum (shifts usually consist of two tours); use hands to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and demonstrate effective communication skills. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. During CAS teacher workshops and family workshops, this employee will assist with setup and cleanup of studio art and other activities, involving duties including but not limited to bending to tape down tarps, lifting and reaching to set up canopies and tables, and carrying other supplies. The Skirball Cultural Center seeks an enthusiastic, creative, and competent team player to serve as Advancement Events and Database Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Advancement, this full-time position is responsible for the planning and management of Skirball donor and member cultivation events, as well as coordinating private events hosted by existing and prospective donors. This position is also responsible for database maintenance, including guest list generation, event attendance reporting, and documenting donor engagement. This position requires strong attention to detail as well as the ability to regularly interface with the Skirball’s donors and members to help the Advancement team achieve its fundraising goals.
This position will require regular on-site work to support the operations of the Advancement department and manage on-site donor and member cultivation events. This position will regularly require evening and weekend work. Qualified candidates must have an adequate home office for periodic remote work.

The Skirball Cultural Center seeks an Advancement Communications Manager for its Advancement department. This full-time position reports to the Vice President of Advancement. The Advancement Communications Manager is a vital member of the Advancement team, responsible for compelling writing and communications pieces that are responsive to Skirball priorities and funding requirements. The Advancement Communications Manager will contribute to the Skirball’s robust fundraising efforts with philanthropists, foundations, corporations, and government entities, inspiring their impassioned support for the Skirball’s mission, social justice, the arts, and education.
Starting Pay: $70,000 per year
Writing/Communications Responsibilities
· Develop grant proposals, reports, budgets, and necessary supporting materials
· Gather and analyze data and information to support grant and report preparation
· Write major donor acknowledgments and correspondence
· Develop and design exhibition/program prospectuses and other Advancement communications pieces
· In collaboration with colleagues in other departments, clarify priorities, goals, and objectives for impactful proposals

On-Call Porter
The Operations department of the Skirball Cultural Center seeks a capable, self-motivated, attentive, detail-oriented individual for the position of Porter. This person will be responsible for maintaining public, office and surrounding facilities in clean and orderly condition to meet health and safety standards. They will also be required to set up and take down furniture and equipment for special events and meetings in accordance with specific design plans. This is a variable-hour, on-call position with a pay rate of $19/hour. The schedule for this position is based on scheduled programs and private events. This position reports to the Senior Facilities Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance
· Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and vacuums Museum exhibit spaces, hallways, stairs, restrooms, and office spaces; clean furniture and fixtures; washes walls, windows, doors, and equipment.
· Empties trash and garbage containers.
· Cleans/sweeps parking lots and walkways to ensure they are free of debris.
· Operates minor cleaning equipment and uses cleaning and other bio and environmentally safe cleaning agents, in accordance with safety instructions.
· Notifies supervisor concerning hazardous conditions or repairs needed in facilities or equipment.
· Cleans debris from sidewalks, parking lots, and surrounding areas.
Events/Meetings
· Set up tables, chairs, stands, boxes, equipment, etc. in accordance with pre-determined plans.
· Break down event and meeting set-ups and stores furniture and other equipment; ensures furniture and equipment is clean and ready for future use.
· Cleans event areas (e.g., mops, sweeps, vacuums) as needed, to ensure area is clean and ready for the next event or meeting.
· Ensure all trash is disposed of properly.
General
· Assist with loading and unloading of equipment and furniture as needed; transport, store, and/or deliver items throughout campus as requested.
