Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 1st “Still Life” Online Art Competition. Artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. The theme of this competition requires that artists incorporate either natural objects, such as foods, flowers, plants, rocks, shells, or man-made objects, such as books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes, etc. We will not consider still-life paintings depicting dead animals or human skulls. All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. First, second and third place will be largely displayed with an article about the artist and their work. First place will be on the poster of the show. $15 for 2 images, $28 for 4, $58 for up to 10. Deadline: November 25, 2021.

Call for Panelists – Annual Arts and Culture Funding Application Review Panels
Apply now to be considered for the City of San Diego funding application review panelists pool for the FY23 funding cycle, and contribute to supporting the impact arts and culture organizations have on our communities throughout San Diego!
The FY23 panel review process will take place in spring 2022. Panels will be conducted virtually or in a hybrid format.
We are looking for artists, cultural practitioners, and arts field professionals from all disciplines and backgrounds throughout North America and Baja California. Panelists receive a $150 honorarium for a full-day panel, and a $75 honorarium for a half-day panel.

McEvoy Foundation for the Arts presents exhibitions and public programs that engage, expand and challenge themes in the McEvoy Family Collection.
Position
McEvoy Arts’ Receptionist is a central player in a small, dynamic staff team. The ideal candidate is independent, mature, and comfortable working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced arts production environment. The Receptionist is the primary forward-facing position in the organization and works closely with visitors, supporters, senior staff, board, and key partners. This position reports to the operations manager while providing basic general assistance to other departments.
Responsibilities
Gallery/Reception
– Greet and receive visitors during gallery hours and events, using reservation system when active.
– Recruit, hire, train, and schedule gallery support staff as well as security when needed.
– Support and organize gallery tour schedule, when active.
– Support ticket and merchandise sales. Reconcile cash and credit card sales.
– Provide periodic attendance and tour participation reports.
– Support the care needs, safety, condition, and security of art works in the gallery.
– Occasional support for gallery events outside of public hours.
General Administration
– Responsible for constituent database. Conduct contact research, enter and maintain information, and facilitate distribution of invitations and collect RSVPs.
– Conduct a variety of administrative tasks including organizing visitor travel; maintaining office calendar; answering the phone; responding to email and other general inquiries; shipping and receiving mail; managing departmental expenses and files; maintaining the office library; and ordering supplies.
– Provide basic research, copy-editing, and written support for departments as needed.
– Occasional light lifting of packages and furniture may be required.
– Assist with board meetings including scheduling, taking minutes, archiving documents, and ordering food.
Qualifications
– Two to four years of undergraduate education with at least two years of administrative experience in an office setting.
– Strong customer service and interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a range of social, economic, and cultural perspectives, histories, and experiences. Multilingual skills a plus.
– Proven organizational and time management as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Personable, well-spoken, and passionate about the institution and its values.
– Knowledge of contemporary art.
– Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and at least one contact database system (FileMaker preferred.).
Schedule
Tuesday – Saturday, 9:30 am to 6 pm with occasional evening hours. The position is currently offered at full-time, 5 days/week. We will consider an 80% FTE as well.

Social Media and Digital Content Specialist
Cal Performances is seeking a Social Media and Digital Content Specialist.
The Social Media and Digital Content Specialist works at the direction of the Associate Director of Communications to produce, schedule, and deploy Cal Performances’ original content across all owned media platforms, including writing and editing, graphic production for social media and web, web and mobile content, video content and project management of larger-scale content production projects.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
PRODUCTION AND DEPLOYMENT FOR SOCIAL MEDIA
• Under the direction and supervision of the Associate Director of Communications, produces content on Cal Performances’ social media channels, including writing posts, uploading videos, creating graphic content, and soliciting, coordinating and editing contributions from other Cal Performances units.
• Under direction of Associate Director of Communications, schedules and deploys social media content across all Cal Performances platforms. Includes usage of social media management software such as Hootsuite to schedule and arrange for deployment in advance.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure content reflects the Cal Performances brand and creative standards.
• When necessary, attend performances, special events, and other artist- and campus-related activities to capture social media content.
• Coordinates with Media Relations Manager and the artists management social media contact in advance of the performance to plan and execute artist-specific social media activities.
• Monitors, responds if necessary, and reports on engagement on Cal Performances social media platforms.
• Utilizing Google Analytics and the social platforms data insights, analyzes, reviews, and reports on effectiveness of posts and content to maximize results.
CONTENT PRODUCTION AND DEPLOYMENT FOR WEB AND MOBILE PLATFORMS
• Under the direction of the Associate Director of Communications and working in conjunction with the digital and web team, produces, traffics and deploys content for Cal Performances’ websites and mobile platforms as needed, including writing and posting blog posts, creating graphic content, uploading videos and photos, and soliciting coordinating and editing contributions from other Cal Performances units and outside contributors as directed.
• Project manages production and trafficking of select video content, including acting as liaison with outside contracted vendors and managing the uploading of content to Cal Performances’ YouTube and Vimeo channels.
SUPERVISION
• Supervises student assistants who also work to create content for social media and the web. Trains students and staff at large on social media protocol and baseline content production skills. Acts as editor and gatekeeper for all student work posted to public digital platforms.
Required Qualifications
· Excellent demonstrated writing and editing skills across a wide variety of channels.
· Demonstrated experience and knowledge of concepts and principles of social media and marketing, including significant experience working on the following social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo.
· Demonstrated ability to stay current on social media best practices, and advise on adoption of new platforms and channels as necessary.
· Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Premiere (or other video editing software), Acrobat; HTML, Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Powerpoint; WordPress (or other CMS).
· Knowledge of website best practices, including UI (user interface design), UX (user experience design), writing for SEO.
· Broad base experience and knowledge of the business of performing arts, including organizations, trends and performing artists in music, dance, and theater.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems of SCFTA buildings and facilities including electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and plumbing systems; performance of maintenance and safety functions at various SCFTA facilities; and work as assigned by the Director of Facilities or Senior Engineers. Each engineer is responsible for providing facilities support, on a rotating basis, for all events, performances, and activities in the venue during a weekly rotation.
Essential Functions:
Installs, maintains, and repairs facilities equipment to include low-pressure boilers, chillers, air handlers, fan coil units, humidifiers, water heaters, pumps, generators, compressors, steam lines, gas lines, and electrical systems.
Responsible for basic techniques in electrical (lighting fixtures, outlet wiring), HVAC (ductwork, control wiring), carpentry (door and seat hardware), and plumbing (clog clearing, faucet leaks) repairs as assigned by leadership.
Performs more difficult repair work such as minor modifications and maintenance, removing doors, replacing overhead tiles, repairing roof and leaks.
Operates and troubleshoots issues related to the Building Management System controls for the HVAC equipment.
Performs electrical maintenance work such as disconnecting, replacing and rerouting electrical systems, wall switches, and plug receptacles.
Plans, coordinates, and performs routine maintenance and safety functions at various SCFTA locations.
Identifies, diagnoses, and corrects facility operating system problems.
May perform minor braising and welding repairs involving a variety of metals.
Determines equipment and materials needs and makes purchases using organizational accounts or credit cards.
Tests and treats hot water heating and chilled water systems in heating and air conditioning units.
Drives automotive equipment in the performance of duties.
Ensures compliance with ADA, CAL-OSHA, and safety regulations.
Maintains a tracking log using designated computer applications.
Provides training and technical guidance to Engineers or other SCFTA staff, as required.
Communicates with professional, governmental, and civic business persons and organizations.
Provides courteous, high-quality service to members of the public by personally responding to requests for assistance or making appropriate referrals.
Ensure the optimum safety, quality, and performance from building maintenance contractors as they execute their contracts.
Responsible for ensuring the housekeeping contractor maintains the facilities clean and directs the cleaning staff on special projects or remedial cleaning.
Coordinates annual capital projects as assigned.
Reports and identifies areas of potential energy savings throughout all systems in all venues.
Inspects buildings and grounds daily to assure high standards of interior and exterior maintenance.
Helps monitor the operation of Patina Restaurant Group in Leatherby’s and the intermission bars.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of facilities maintenance principles and practices related to design, construction, and operation of various pumps, motors, buildings, facilities management, maintenance tracking system, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
Experience maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical facilities operating systems.
