Project Description

Opened to the public in 1993, the mission of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) is to generate culture that moves people. By centering artists as essential to social and cultural movement, YBCA is reimagining the role an arts institution can play in the community it serves. Our performances, exhibitions, screenings, events, public projects, think tanks and convenings are community-driven and focused on the big questions and stories of today. We work with experts and thought leaders of all kinds — artists, scholars, researchers, activists, and culture bearers — and partners from across sectors to leverage combined resources and push groundbreaking work forward that leads to positive community change.
