With support from the California Arts Council, Womxn 2 Womxn will expand its Art, Community, and Culture Project to build a sustainable, accessible creative ecosystem in Fresno,CA. CAC funds will help us deepen arts programming in underserved neighborhoods, offer free and low-cost multi-series workshops, and provide paid opportunities and professional development for local artists. We will prioritize women, gender-expansive individuals, and youth, ensuring that underrepresented voices are centered in every aspect of our work. The project will strengthen partnerships with schools, universities, and community organizations to broaden engagement and increase awareness of accessible arts. With this support, Womxn 2 Womxn will serve over 1,000 participants annually, uplift local artists, and advance a more equitable, inclusive arts landscape in Fresno’s growing downtown.
Our project provides an inclusive, multigenerational arts program that centers accessibility, cultural diversity, and community connection. At its core is a year-round calendar of free and affordable art workshops, including youth summer programs, all-ages beginner DJ classes, free Art Hop workshops, and a curated Fresno Artist’s Coloring Book.
We also host a community gallery showcasing youth and adult artists, culminating in a free annual showcase with live performances, interactive art-making experiences, and exhibitions highlighting workshop participants. Through hands-on learning, public events, and creative opportunities, we create a welcoming space where people of all ages can explore, express, and share their artistic voice.
