With California Arts Council support, TURBINE ARTS COLLECTIVE INC will advance our volunteer-run model to meet our creative community’s growing needs. By doubling our free workshops, adding more low-cost offerings, expanding our performance calendar, and fostering new collaborators, this grant will ensure that our exploration of creative practice remains a stable, permanent resource for L.A. artists. In California, entertainment remains a vital part of our economy, and theater is at its very core. But the shuttering of countless small theaters since the pandemic has restricted access to this vital part of our California culture. By prioritizing foundational space costs, we can maintain our low-and-no-cost baseline for workshops and performances, while increasing our support to the performing artists and collaborators who bring our programming to life.
