With support from the California Arts Council, The OTHER SIDE OF THE HILL PRODUCTIONS INC will strengthen its organizational infrastructure by supporting key administrative personnel, including the Company Managers and Marketing staff. Competitive compensation for these essential positions ensures the stability, continuity, and operational capacity necessary for the company to remain a leader in the development and production of socially, politically relevant new works by emerging playwrights.
Professional staff is central to sustaining The Road’s nationally recognized new play development programs, audience growth and fundraising efforts. These personnel also play a vital role in expanding accessibility, community engagement and collaborations with nonprofit partners. By investing in the people who sustain the organization’s daily operations and artistic mission, this funding will help ensure that The Road can continue to nurture innovative voices and serve diverse audiences.
One of the Road’s founding principles is that involvement in the arts creates stronger communities. Through the full engagement of our membership, we are able to produce four to five mainstage productions, a workshop series, weekly staged readings, classes for seniors, and an annual Summer Playwrights Festival – all at affordable or no cost to our community. We believe it is essential for the health of the American ethos to advance the larger theatrical conversation of our national culture. Through this dialogue we animate and inspire both our artists and audiences with the realization that through art and action we are lifted into the searching of soul, the revelation of humanity, the awareness that we are not alone and the struggle to make sense of our existence on this earth – as it is and as we wish it to be.
