Project Description
With Support from the California Arts Council, the Tea & Verse Poetry Salon will produce a four-episode docuseries featuring Black, BIPOC, and Older Adult literary, visual, and performing artists from the cities of Pasadena and Altadena area who have been impacted by the Eaton Canyon fire of January 2025. Each episode will highlight a guest artist, the story of their development as an artist, their artistic practice, and their ties to the Pasadena-Altadena area. The episode will culminate with a presentation of the featured artist’s selected works.
Organization Summary
1. To present poetry, literary, and performing arts events to foster connection between artists and their local communities.
2. To develop poetry-centered interdisciplinary works and programs that spotlight the contributions of and challenges faced by current and unsung writers and artists from underrepresented communities.
3. To provide resources and support to developing and experienced writers and performers.
