With support from the California Arts Council, Santa Clara Chorale Inc will include other performing artists in the production of its concert season at the historic Mission Santa Clara de Asis in Santa Clara, California. The Chorale will hire and feature local ensemble instrumentalists and individual soloists to enhance our musical presentations during the season, and commission a graphic designer to create artistic materials for concert marketing and program information. Supporting these artists provides an opportunity for them to further develop their craft, and to reach an audience to whom they may not otherwise have been exposed. Including these artists requires funding beyond what our current development efforts can support.
Choral Music skill development and public performances: The Santa Clara Chorale unites passionate amateur singers of all ages and backgrounds to develop vocal skills, learn and rehearse a wide variety of music — from timeless choral classics to music from various genres as well as brand new works — for artistic performance available to the broader community.
Community collaboration: The Chorale serves as a catalyst for artistic collaboration and excellence with many events: Festival of Choirs provides other choral groups opportunities for learning clinics, public performance, and socializing; partnerships with The Music School in Sunnyvale and the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers of Santa Clara University provides students of all ages enhanced musical opportunities; concert performances feature instrumentalists from around the area; inclusion of community members as narrators and concert guests, such as featuring military veteran speakers in a concert performance highlighting the historic “Christmas Truce” between fighting soldiers during World War I.
