With support from the California Arts Council, the Sacramento County Office of Economic Development (OED) will develop a County Arts Workplan to advance arts and culture in Sacramento County. The plan will include recommendations from OED’s updated strategic plan, establish a structure for governance and implementation of the County art program, identify funding opportunities and resources, outline County policy objectives, and set priorities for the initial years of implementation. Particular focus will be placed on unincorporated Sacramento County, including communities within some of the County’s lowest-quartile census tracts that have historically received less city and county funding support than incorporated areas. The plan will promote the integration of public art into commercial corridor revitalization efforts in partnership with community stakeholders and support implementation of the county-wide Poetry Out Loud high school poetry competition.
