Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, Ri-Nu Imagination will strengthen organizational sustainability and expand accessible multidisciplinary arts programming serving Rancho Cordova and the greater Sacramento region. General Operating Support funding will sustain core operational infrastructure, including facility expenses, staffing, accessibility efforts, exhibitions, artist support, and community-based arts programming.
Funding will support free and low-cost workshops, multicultural exhibitions, Healing Through the Arts programming, artist development opportunities, and public creative engagement activities serving historically under-resourced communities, including neurodiverse individuals, veterans, older adults, emerging artists, multicultural communities, individuals in recovery, and those navigating grief, trauma, isolation, and life transitions.
Through partnerships, exhibitions, workforce development opportunities, and inclusive community programming, Ri-Nu Imagination expands equitable access to the arts while fostering creative expression, cultural participation, wellness, and community connection.
Organization Summary
Ri-Nu Imagination is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization based at 9719 Lincoln Village Drive in
Sacramento. Through Ri-Nu Studios, we offer inclusive, affordable, and community-rooted arts
programming that empowers underrepresented creatives and fosters healing through the arts.
Studio Rentals & Exhibitions
We provide seven private and semi-private artist studios for local creators to explore their practices
in a supportive environment. Our curated exhibitions–including shows like Echoes of Her and
American Dreamers–highlight emerging and established artists, often in connection with cultural
celebrations or community themes. Pop-up galleries and rotating installations invite ongoing public
engagement.
Workshops & Healing Arts
Ri-Nu offers free and low-cost workshops in painting, mixed media, wearable art, and upcycled
fashion. Our Healing Through the Arts program addresses grief, trauma, and recovery through
peer-led, expressive arts sessions. Musicians will soon be able to join dedicated workshops
exploring composition, collaboration, and recording techniques as part of our growing curriculum.
Community Events & Creative Exchange
Our monthly Open Mic Night welcomes comedians, dancers, writers, and musicians of all
experience levels to share original work in a safe, affirming space. Seasonal benefit
concerts–featuring regional performers–are currently in development and will support scholarships,
supplies, and artist stipends. Additional creative mixers, artist talks, and cultural showcases round
out our annual programming.
Collaboration & Professional Development
We collaborate with nonprofit arts partners, individual creatives, and local small businesses to build
a vibrant and economically inclusive creative ecosystem. Starting Fall 2025, we will launch an
internship for credit in partnership with Sacramento State’s College of Arts & Letters, offering
students experience in nonprofit studio operations, event production, and arts leadership.
