With support from the California Arts Council, Project Sheba will produce the Desert Fringe Theatre and Cultural Arts Festival, a multi-day performing arts event in Twentynine Palms bringing original theatre, cabaret, spoken word, improv, music, and performance art to the Hi-Desert community. Festival programming will center culturally diverse and historically underrepresented artists and audiences across multiple accessible community venues, including free and low-cost events at public spaces such as the 29 Palms Farmers Market. CAC funds will support artist fees, venue costs, production materials, community outreach, and program documentation for the 2026 festival season, as well as Juneteenth and Black History Month celebrations at Knott’s Sky Park.
