With support from the California Arts Council, PALM SPRINGS CULTURAL CENTER will expand Rank and File: LGBTQ+ Digital Oral History Project, which captures the stories of LGBTQ+ individuals from the Silent Generation (1928–1945) and Baby Boomer Generation (1946–1964). In collaboration with California-based LGBTQ+ artists and filmmakers, this project will document and preserve coming-out stories often erased from dominant narratives. CAC funds will support the development of an accessible digital platform to host these oral histories and interactive content, as well as integrate them into Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBTQ+ Film Festival. Rank and File addresses a critical community-defined need for cultural visibility, intergenerational connection, and equitable representation in the arts.
