Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, NOVA COMMUNITY ARTS will increase the amount of program scholarships awarded to low-to-moderate-income artists in underserved Los Angeles communities, providing high quality arts education and access to materials, equipment, and studio space for artists to produce new work. We will also develop new educational programming based on demonstrated community interest, supply free art materials to student artists, and create a new paid role of Program Management Assistant to build the foundations of a young professional’s career in the field of arts program management. This will be a part time position, building upon a previous internship that was offered in 2025, and will focus on assisting with the development of NOVA’s public programs, including workshops, gallery shows and art fairs, as well as overseeing day-to-day operations in the studio.

Organization Summary

We are dedicated to serving underfunded and underserved populations and creating inclusive and accessible spaces for our community. The need for accessible, community-based arts education remains significant in Los Angeles, where many adults face barriers to creative opportunities due to financial limitations and lack of inclusive spaces. NCA addresses this gap by providing affordable and affirming programs that empower individuals to express themselves, develop new skills, and connect through art.
