With support from the California Arts Council, The Museum of Northern California Art (monca) will continue to pursue our mission: “To make art accessible and promote awareness of Northern California artists through collections, exhibitions and educational programs.” Funding will allow monca to deepen our commitment to equitable access, expanding outreach to rural and historically underrepresented communities within the North State, as well as increasing accessibility. We will continue to serve as a welcoming, inclusive space where diverse audiences can experience high-quality exhibitions, participate in meaningful arts education, and engage with the cultural narratives that shape our region. $30,000 in General Operating Support ensures our organizational stability as we focus more intently on these pursuits.
monca provides rotating art exhibitions, field trips, educational programs and events. The vision of the Museum of Northern California Art (monca) is to be a vehicle for communities in the region to experience and create art for the sake of enjoyment, expression, social cohesion, innovation and communication. The museum will improve public perception of art by creating vital educational programs that inspire enthusiasm and increase the quality of life for artists, art enthusiasts and the public at large.
