With support from the California Arts Council, MORRO BAY ART ASSOCIATION will continue & expand our scholarship program.

Morro Bay Art Association began awarding scholarships to local high school & college students in 2021; these unrestricted funds are intended to advance the students’ artistic pursuits.

Scholarship amounts have traditionally been $500; decreased outside funding resulted in 2026 scholarships being reduced to $250. This program has been widely embraced, with more applicants than funds. MBAA would like to return the scholarship amount to $500, along with increasing the number of scholarships offered.

Currently we serve three local high schools, and one Community College. We seek to expand scholarships to four additional high schools as well as including home schoolers in this opportunity. 100% of funding would go directly into the scholarships; 34 scholarships @ $500 each.
