With support from the California Arts Council, MORRO BAY ART ASSOCIATION will increase the opportunity for community members (kids) to participate in Summer Arts Camp.
Morro Bay Art Center has been offering summer art camps for kids ages 6-12, at our Gallery since 2021. Our educators encourage students to explore materials and techniques that build confidence and inspire imagination.
While these camps have been popular, in 2025 we saw participation decrease by 40% from 2021. This drop can be attributed to less “discretionary funds” of community members; inflation has affected all.
Monies will be used to lower cost of the sessions by 25% (from $120 to $90 for a 3-day session) allowing for more participation, particularly with kids from lower income homes.
We will actively cultivate lower income groups for inclusion, at no charge. (scholarships)
