MarinArts is requesting $30,000 in General Operating funds to support our services that ensure all Marin County residents can discover, access, and participate in the arts. Currently connecting 365 arts organizations and reaching over 683,000 website sessions annually through our free online platform, this funding would allow MarinArts to reach additional artists and art enthusiasts from communities that have the least access to arts programming and services. These communities include Spanish-speakers, children from low-income families, people with disabilities, seniors, and members of the rural West Marin communities. This investment from CAC would allow MarinArts to expand our Online Arts Platform, Arts Alive! Community Event Series, and our Artes Latino Marin and Diverse Voices initiatives to additional communities. By doing so we will strengthen the arts, culture, and creative expression in Marin County.
• In October 2016, we launched the online arts portal and calendar, offering free
event listings, a powerful network of directories, and advertising and sponsorship
opportunities for artists, arts organizations, and businesses. Our Mission is to “bring audiences to the arts in Marin”.
• In December 2016, we formulated strategies to:
• Build portal traffic (visits and click throughs to art event venues) through
aggressive marketing and outreach.
• Ensure sustainable revenue from grants and donations.
• Increased portal traffic (visits and click throughs to art event venues) through
