1. Student Success Program: After-school mentoring and academic support to youth from middle school through college completion (ages 10-24). Legacy LA also engages at-risk and justice-impacted youth in Live Your Legacy career readiness services.

2. Gang Reduction & Youth Development: City-funded, evidence-based, gang prevention services with an emphasis on family case management.

3. FamilySource Center: City-funded family services to increase academic achievement for youth and increase income for parents/guardians.

4. Mindfulness & Wellness: Culturally relevant, on-site therapy, indigenous healing practices, mindfulness courses (to reduce stress), life skills sessions, parent groups, a father’s group, and Rainbow Alliance for LGBTQ youth and allies.

6. Arts & Culture: Legacy LA provides visual arts, comedy and improvisation, spoken word, poetry, theater, storytelling, graffiti art, murals, and hip hop music. Company of Angels, whose performance home is Legacy LA’s black box theater, uses the space to provide arts & culture in collaboration with Legacy LA and to develop emerging artists and produce theater that reflects the richness, diversity, and complexity of LA.

7. Leadership Development: The Youth Council engages youth in 3 years of leadership training. Mujeres Poderosas is a women’s leadership skill-building group that empowers women of Ramona Gardens; it was launched after Company of Angels worked with the women on a theater project. Comunidad Unida is a group of trained leaders (adults) improving the community.

8. Youth Organizing: Legacy LA builds youth power to improve community conditions. Legacy LA youth have been leading the “Invest In Youth Coalition”, which resulted in the creation of a City of LA Youth Development Department in 2021. Youth leaders are also engaged in a campaign to build a Ramona Gardens Natural Park to mitigate air pollution from the adjacent I-10 freeway; youth helped win a $950,000 federal grant award in 2022 to advance the park.
