Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, Left Coast Music will host a concert series consisting of six live performances presented within San Diego County. Performed by a wind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon), concerts will explore music from around the world, highlighting cultural connections through engaging live music. Repertoire will be accessible to broad audiences while maintaining a high level of artistic excellence, and will introduce the audiences to a wind quintet, which they may have not experienced. A key component of the project is audience engagement and education. Each performance will include brief spoken program notes, providing context for the music in an approachable and engaging way. This format encourages understanding and appreciation of the music represented, while remaining welcoming to audiences of all levels of musical familiarity.
