Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, KidSingers will provide partial funding for the salaries of the Artistic Director, Program Manager, and choral music instructors, all of whom dedicate 100% of their time to the program. Together, they execute 260 hours of rehearsals and seven live concert performances annually. Founded in 1997, KidSingers serves students in grades 3–12 primarily from Santa Ana, as well as neighboring communities. 95% of participating youth come from underserved communities where access to afterschool choral arts programs is limited or nonexistent. KidSingers believes every child deserves the opportunity to discover their voice—both musically and personally. Through choral music education and performances, the program endows youth with the transformative power of music, fostering creativity, confidence, discipline, teamwork, and personal growth that extends far beyond the stage.

Organization Summary

KidSingers is a large inner city, after school multi-choir program, providing opportunities for under resourced kids (grades 3-12) to perform live choral music, building self-confidence and team work skills. KidSingers also offers a Scholarship program that advances vocational or academic betterment for students who wish to apply. In a discreet and selective way, KidSingers also refers and provides social services, not limited to immigration law referral, law enforcement support, and digital access.
