With support from the California Arts Council, JOYFUL ART CENTER will expand youth arts programming in partnership with Solano County Probation’s Youth Achievement Center, Juvenile Hall, and the California Medical Facility Arts Program through the William James Association’s Prison Arts Project. Programming will also extend into community-based youth settings in Fairfield and Vallejo.
CAC funding will support teaching artist compensation, mobile program delivery, collaborative art projects, and materials for ongoing weekly arts programming serving justice-involved and at-risk youth. Through hands-on, process-based art experiences, youth participants will build creative confidence, strengthen social-emotional skills, and engage in positive self-expression and community connection.
This project increases access to meaningful arts engagement for underserved youth while strengthening community partnerships and expanding equitable access to arts education throughout Solano County.
Joyful Art Center is dedicated to inspiring individuals of all ages to explore, develop, and celebrate their creativity. We believe everyone deserves access to enriching art experiences and aim to create an inclusive environment where creativity can thrive.
