The Italian American Museum of Los Angeles (IAMLA) presents two new exhibitions annually, free arts and educational programs, and ethnohistoric and arts-focused California Content Standards-based curricula.
The free programming includes activities for K–12 students and their families, tours, art workshops, and live performances. The museum also offers internships and job training opportunities for college students, the majority of whom are first-generation college students and members of underrepresented groups.
The IAMLA’s core arts programs and services are designed to prioritize community needs including:
• Providing families with welcoming, accessible, and meaningful arts and culture experiences and experiential learning opportunities that encourage lifelong learning, facilitate a relationship with the arts, and foster historical and cultural literacy skills.
• Promoting cultural equity and inclusion in the art community.
• Creating avenues for empowerment and engagement and nurturing lasting relationships with the public.
• Connecting diverse communities and offering a vehicle for constructive social discussions.
• Providing internship and job training opportunities for underserved youth.
