Founded in 1999, Torrance Theatre Company (TTC) presents diverse seasons of drama, comedy, and musicals—both classic and contemporary—to inspire, educate, and entertain audiences. Dedicated to producing affordable, professional-quality theater, TTC also delivers impactful educational and outreach programming for the South Bay community. Its productions often explore themes such as women’s and LGBTQ rights and racial equity, and the company engages diverse writers and directors to bring their perspectives to the stage.

Over the past 24 years, TTC has become a creative home for thousands of volunteer actors, technicians, and artists. It offers a safe space for performers of all levels—many of whom have gone on to national stages, including Broadway productions such as Hamilton, In the Heights, and Aladdin. Others have found a fulfilling return to local performance. TTC’s doors remain open to artists of all backgrounds and aspirations.

Each season includes five mainstage shows, cabarets, a summer musical at the 502-seat James Armstrong Theatre, and outdoor park performances, collectively attracting more than 7,000 annual audience members. TTC also provides training and mentorship for 10–20 student interns annually, in collaboration with high school and college theater programs.

TTC’s outreach includes summer camps for children ages 6–17 and its long-running partnership with People Actively Learning and Sharing (PALS). In the PALS program, participants engage in theater games and improv, followed by attending a summer dress rehearsal to learn about production and performance.
