Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, DRAWBRIDGE ARTS will sustain and strengthen its free, weekly trauma-informed expressive arts programs for children ages 5 to 18 experiencing housing instability across 14 active sites in seven San Francisco Bay Area counties. Now in its 37th year, DrawBridge delivers programming directly inside shelters, transitional housing, and affordable housing facilities, eliminating every barrier between a child and a consistent, high-quality creative experience. CAC funds will support core operations including site facilitation, the third year of our Community Artist Program, and deepening evaluation infrastructure through formal partnerships with Dominican University and UC Berkeley. With over 15 community partners on our waitlist, this investment strengthens DrawBridge’s capacity to serve the children who need us most, where they already are.
