Project Description

With support from the CAC, CULTURE FLOW PROJECTS (CFP) will produce the sixth cohort of our Emerging Artist residency: SEED, a four-month experimental dance theatre creation process engaging (6) local artists with a new initiative including (4) system-impacted youth interns in the creative process and performance of Afro-Diasporic, street, and social dance. While local artists develop work for the stage, we will provide free, inclusive space ( monthly allocation of 15 hours/artist) to create with our two directors Tsiambwom Akuchu and Vanessa Neva, and a platform to perform their culminating work at the Stomping Ground, followed by a Q&A for and by the community. Youth interns receive 15 monthly classes to engage in cultural arts mentorship in our Afro-Diasporic Lab. Both local artists and interns will participate in (8) experimental dance theater mentorship workshops.
