With support from the California Arts Council, the County of San Diego Office of Economic Development and Government Affairs, and its Arts, Film and Creative Industries division, will advance an equitable, inclusive creative economy through strategic marketing, engagement, and outreach.
CAC funds will support:
Poetry Out Loud. The regional Poetry Out Loud program, produced with Write Out Loud, aims to ignite a passion for poetry and strengthen youth engagement in the arts.
Marketing and Outreach. This initiative will expand marketing and outreach capacity to increase public awareness of the arts and better connect with artists across the region. Efforts include strengthening marketing infrastructure, enhancing brand presence, and developing effective collateral. Countywide outreach, especially to artists in unincorporated, rural, under-resourced, and lower quartile CHPI areas, will broaden access to networks and opportunities.
Through its Arts, Film, and Creative Industries division, EDGA strengthens the County’s creative sector by supporting creative businesses, artists, creators, and cultural producers, as well as community initiatives that position creative industries as essential to civic engagement, economic prosperity, and community wellbeing. Guided by the principles of people, place, and storytelling, EDGA’s work spans creative economy policy and research, screen production, public art, business development and investments, and regional and global collaboration.
Policy, Strategy, and Research
EDGA develops and informs policies that enhance the sustainability, diversity, and economic impact of the creative sector. Work includes advocating for arts and creative industries in regional planning and advancing strategies and global initiatives that elevate the region’s creative identity.

Creative Industry Support and Growth
EDGA supports artists, creative entrepreneurs, and creative businesses through technical assistance, business training, and workforce pathways.
