Project Description

Chrysalis Studio promotes joyful artistic exploration through printmaking workshops that foster creative community, with an emphasis on serving marginalized communities. Our Queer Ancestors Project (QAP) provides free programs for transitional age youth that combine arts education and the study of Queer and Transgender history, with the goal of forging sturdy relationships between LGBTQI people and our ancestors. QAP PRINTS! integrates printmaking and Kaleidoscope integrates literary creation.

We believe that every person deserves to lead a life enriched with artistic exploration within the fabric of a creative community. We want for all Queer, Transgender, and Nonbinary people, particularly younger folk, to be deeply grounded in their history, drawing from it wisdom, power, and a community that extends across time. We believe in the power of creativity and risk-taking. We celebrate the ways artistic exploration contributes to a joyful and meaningful life. We know that creative endeavors weave and strengthen the fabric of communities.
