With support from the California Arts Council, Broad Room Creative Collective Sacramento will expand organizational capacity to sustain our core arts and cultural programs serving a bottom-tier (14th percentile) California HPI community. CAC funds will right-size the Executive Director’s salary, covering 0.5 FTE to allow strategic focus on capacity building, staff training and management, and partnership development. Funds will also support contract staff for studio management, volunteer coordination, and facility scheduling which are tasks that are outside the ED’s role. This investment transforms a volunteer-dependent model into a resilient, staff-supported infrastructure for free art supplies, affordable studios, public murals, and career-building workshops.
Broad Room’s primary programs are the Free Art Supply Closet, the California Art Supply Mutual Aid Training Program, and affordable artist studio space. We serve about 1,500 people per year through the Free Art Supply Closet, which provides free new and gently-used art supplies to the public. We are a founding member of the California Art Supply Mutual Aid Network. We provide affordable studio space to 18+ local artists in our Sacramento-based warehouse.
