With support from the California Arts Council, ArtHatch will continue to foster creativity and community connection through our 7,000 sq. ft. complex—home to multiple galleries, 17 artist studios, and Last Spot, our vibrant gathering space. Funding will make 27 free annual events possible, including monthly 2nd Saturday receptions with open studios and live music, and monthly sketch nights with a DJ, all run by our all-artist staff.
Our free teen art program supports youth—85% of whom are on probation—through weekly workshops led by professional artists, access to our fully stocked teen studio, and the opportunity to exhibit their work in our 3rd annual all-teen show. Our ADA-compliant facility ensures that everyone, regardless of ability, can participate fully. Funding will help sustain an inclusive hub where artists and community members can create, connect, and thrive.
ArtHatch provides free opening receptions for new exhibitions, Q and A artist sessions and talks, open studios, and live music free for the public 12 times per year.
We also provide 24/7 studio space for 20 local artists and exhibition space for an additional 21 artists. Additionally, we host regular monthly field trips for Escondido high schools and colleges. Lastly, we have a free in depth teen arts program for at risk teens with a focus on teens from single parent households, low income families, teens in the foster care system, and teens performing court ordered after school program hours.
