With support from the California Arts Council, ArtHatch will empower at-risk youth, 85% of whom are on probation, by providing 47 free, skill-building workshops and open studio hours over the next year. Funding will supply essential art materials chosen by participants, ensuring youth have the tools they need to explore their creativity in a supportive, dedicated space.

In 2026, the teen space will be moved downstairs and expanded. The project will also include our third annual all-teen art exhibition and a private reception for the teens, their mentors, families, and probation officers. If fully funded, we will hire at least six youth for paid internships, providing hands-on experience alongside professional artists and building skills that foster confidence, belonging, and brighter futures.
