Internship basics
Requirements
Requirements for our spring internships are:
Audience Services
The Audience Services Department is responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, accessible, and well-organized experience for guests attending performances and events at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The department oversees front-of-house operations, guest services, accessibility services, paid event staff, and a large volunteer usher program across the Center’s performance venues. The Audience Services intern will gain hands-on experience in both the administrative and operational sides of managing the guest experience at a major performing arts center. Projects may include assisting with event preparation, staff and volunteer communications, training materials, guest feedback and service initiatives, accessibility programs, operational procedures, and research related to industry practices and emerging guest-service needs. The intern will also have opportunities to observe performances and events from an operational perspective and learn how Audience Services works with departments throughout the Center to support successful events. The ideal candidate is organized, curious, comfortable working with people, and interested in guest experience, arts administration, event operations, accessibility, or venue manaement. Some evening or weekend availability may be requested to provide exposure to live event operations.
