Land and Sea: Celebrating Our National Marine Sanctuary
Curators: Joan Blackmer & Chad Williams
Juried by: Ted Orland and Brian Taylor
Exhibit Dates: March 23 – May 2, 2027
Reception: Saturday, March 27, 2027 | 1:00pm – 3:00pm

The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary spans from Rocky Point in Marin County to Cambria in San Luis Obispo County, reaching 25 miles offshore and inland to the ridges of the Coast Range. Pajaro Valley Arts invites photographers and digital artists living and/or working in the greater Bay Area to explore this territory in full — its waters, wildlife, working harbors, towns, industry, and people. We welcome images of any subject connected to this region: marine life, coastal landscapes, architecture, industry, and the everyday people who live and work here. The goal is a fuller picture of the sanctuary — not just its natural beauty, but the human life built around it. Works will be juried for inclusion, with both invited and open-call artists drawn from our local community and
beyond. Join us in celebrating one of the region’s most significant coastal ecosystems, and the people who call it home.
