With support from the California Arts Council, OLD FIRST CENTER FOR THE ARTS will expand our concert offerings so that local artists presenting programs centering women, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ composers and performers continue to be celebrated and affirmed, and restore our staffing (full time director) to meet the needs of our patrons and artists.
Provide a venue for local artists to perform concerts and engage audiences, especially featuring music from “the margins” that may be neglected by mainstream venues.
Live stream all concerts to provide access for those who are otherwise unable to attend musical events.
Record all concerts to give performers material for auditions, grant applications, and promotion.
Keep an extensive archive of musical performances containing many world and local premieres of newly composed music.
Provide a neighborhood hub for cultural expression in an area that does not have other venues.
