Creative Legacies: Youth Artists Documenting Fresno’s Arts Impact is a youth-centered documentary and storytelling initiative that engages Fresno 35 youth ages 16–24 in creating a short documentary film that highlights the cultural impact of a local nonprofit arts organization. The project transforms filmmaking into a participatory public art process where youth research, interview, and document community stories.
The project serves communities in ZIP Code 93740 in Fresno, which falls within the lower two quartiles of the California Healthy Places Index (HPI), indicating historically under-resourced conditions with reduced access to key health and economic opportunities.
In partnership with 12Creatives, youth collaborate with professional filmmakers to research, interview, and produce the documentary. The film will premiere at a public screening reaching 200+ community members.
