Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, FILMFORUM INC will present The Warriors Journey by Guillermo Bert, a community-centered mobile public art installation honoring essential Latino and immigrant workers through large-scale sculptural portraits, storytelling, film documentation, and augmented reality. Launching in October 2026 with a confirmed activation at the LAND + SKY event at Rancho Santa Clara del Norte in Ventura County during Latino/Hispanic Heritage Month, the project will bring exhibitions, workshops, and educational programming to underserved communities across Ventura County, East Los Angeles, Oxnard, Fresno, and surrounding agricultural regions. CAC funds will support educational programming, transportation and operational costs associated with the Warriors Truck mobile exhibition platform, and film/recording documentation connected to public exhibitions and community engagement activities developed in partnership with Self Help Graphics, MoLAA, and Studio Channel Islands.
