Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, City of Soledad Parks and Recreation Department will implement a free, artist-led after-school arts program serving youth ages 6–10. Through weekly hands-on workshops held at Orchard Lane Park and the Community Center, participants will engage in visual and multi-media arts, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and connection. Programming will prioritize youth with limited access to arts and enrichment opportunities outside of school.
Grant funds will support artist services, supplies, outreach, and implementation. Activities may include painting, mixed media, mosaic art, and nature-based projects utilizing natural materials.
Programming will take place in the park and at the Community Center depending on weather and programming. The project will be implemented through partnerships with schools and arts partners to ensure inclusive and cultural experiences supporting positive development and continued participation in the arts.
