With support from the California Arts Council, the Fountain Theatre will launch Stories of Home: Object Memories LA, the inaugural cycle of FOUNTAIN STORIES, a community-based storytelling initiative centered on immigrant and refugee voices in East Hollywood. CAC funds will support artist fees, participant stipends, workshops, community engagement activities, production costs, accessibility services, and public performances. Through facilitated storytelling workshops, participants will develop personal narratives inspired by objects brought from “home,” culminating in a live performance series and post-show community conversations at the Fountain Theatre. The project responds to a growing need for community gathering spaces that foster empathy, visibility, and dialogue across boundaries. By centering local immigrant experiences, the project will strengthen community connection and expand representation within the arts, deepening the Fountain’s role as an accessible neighborhood cultural hub.
