Project Description

With support from CAC, Audiopharmacy Prescriptions will sustain and strengthen the operational infrastructure that powers BAMBU Pharm and the Solutions to Artist Sustainability Initiative (STASI). CAC funds will support the core team responsible for building, organizing and producing our STASI programming, including the Cultural Community Teaching Artist Residency (CCTAR), BAMBU Sessions, and Affordable Artist Housing. This team ensures artists are recruited, compensated, supported and platformed; that community members have consistent access to free and sliding-scale culturally rooted arts and wellness programming, and BAMBU Pharm continues to serve as a thriving cultural hub in West Oakland.

Organization Summary

Audiopharmacy Prescriptions delivers interdisciplinary arts, culture, wellness, and healing-centered programs rooted in community, cultural connection, sustainability, and intergenerational impact.
BAMBU Sessions is an H.I. (Human Intelligence)–driven live studio experience where artists co-create original music in real time. Fully improvised and recorded in a single take before an intimate audience, each session amplifies artistic expression while highlighting a community cause to raise awareness and support grassroots efforts.
Culturally-Rooted Arts Education includes workshops and multi-week classes centering Indigenous and diasporic traditions. Programs such as Shangó Beats introduce Afro-Brazilian percussion and Candomblé-rooted practices, fostering musical skill, cultural awareness, and collective expression.
Wellness & Healing Arts Programming integrates mindfulness, movement, and somatic practices. Offerings include InnerG Sessions, Bayanihan Boxing, and Divine Sound, Tea & Color—supporting physical health, emotional resilience, and community connection through culturally-rooted practices.
Affordable Housing & Artist Support at BAMBU Pharm provides artists with an affordable creative sanctuary that integrates living space, programming, and community engagement—supporting sustained artistic practice.
Multimedia & Creative Production offers recording, filming, and in-house production, enabling artists to create and share content that amplifies community-based cultural work or creative content.
Community Partnerships & Socio-Ecological Programming connect arts with environmental and social justice through collaborations with partners such as Remagination Farm and Reclaim Our Power, integrating land-based practices, food sovereignty, and energy justice.
Community Events & Gatherings bring people together through radical joy, activism and entertainment. BAMBU Sessions anchor this work, hosting both cultural celebrations like Lunar New Year and campaigns such as “Free Leo, Free Them All.”
Artist Sustainability & Development includes the Cultural Community Artist Teaching Residency (CCATR), providing paid teaching opportunities, mentorship, and resources to support artists in building sustainable, community-centered livelihoods.
