Since its founding in 1993, Classical Crossroads, Inc. has evolved into a multifaceted, mission-driven nonprofit (incorporated in 2013) that promotes the great art of classical music through the following:

* “Classical Interludes” — free monthly Saturday-afternoon chamber music concerts, followed by complimentary receptions featuring coffee, freshly baked treats, and a seasonal fruit selection, held at First Lutheran Church & School in Torrance, California.

* “Second Sundays at Two” — free monthly Sunday-afternoon chamber music concerts in Rolling Hills Estates, California.

* Outreach concerts for youth, including those in underserved areas. The concerts are presented in partnership with three nonprofits: 1) First Lutheran School in Torrance, 2) The Santa Cecilia Arts & Learning Center, and 3) Chamber Music | Orange County.

* Annual well-paid concert opportunities for up-and-coming performing artists: 1) winners of the Peninsula Symphony’s Concerto Competition and 2) top ensembles from the USC Thornton School of Music and The Colburn School.

* Hosting the award-winning, free Clickable Chamber Music Newsletter, founded in 1999 and delivered every two weeks via Mailchimp, Substack, and Facebook to about 4,000 subscribers. It focuses on livestreamed chamber music and recitals, both local and worldwide.

Classical Crossroads is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, with a focus on the constituency explicitly mentioned in the previous White House’s Executive Orders: “Support the independence and lifelong inclusion of people with disabilities.” For those unable to attend concerts in person due to physical or mental challenges, illness, or advanced age, Classical Crossroads livestreams its concerts. The concerts are held in the afternoon to provide access for the older segment of the audience who do not drive at night.

Classical Crossroads is run entirely by the volunteer efforts of its sixteen board members. There are no paid staff; the key to ensuring that more than 80% of the money it raises goes to the performing artists.
